Xiaomi has launched another new Y series phones. The new Redmi Y1 selfie-focused and budget range smartphone. Redmi Y1 is a little different from other Xiaomi Redmi phones in the market right now, when we consider the plastic body of Redmi Y1. Otherwise it has same design element as other devices in the Redmi series.
Redmi Y1 comes with 3.5mm headphone socket, an IR emitter, and the secondary microphone on the top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. On the either side it has Micro-USB port with grilles for primary microphone and speaker.Device comes with Snapdragon 435 SoC processor paired with 3GB RAM. It comes with dedicated 32GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable by up to 128GB using the microSD card slot. The microSD card is places nearly to two nano-SIM card slot. The dedicated microSD card slot makes Redmi Y1 different from previous Redmi phones.
The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 9 Beta on top. The new MIUI 9 is introduced recently by Xiaomi. It gives much bettter experience while using it. The Redmi Y1 comes with two colours, Gold and Dark Gray.
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Y1 at a starting price of Rs 8,999 for the base 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version going all the way to Rs 10,999 for the top-end 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. The specs are good in these price range but little bit compromise to the plastic body. Overall this is best budget selfi phone out for the market by Xiaomi.
